and Bio- Feedback and  other "New Age" studues, found in my  SPIRIT QUEST pages;  than many of the good "old fashioned" methods of FORTUNE TELLING.;listed by Title:

I will try to make a thorough an overview as possible for some of these Methods here;  and will also tell you a little about a few  of the others.

I have also started pages on some of the more Famous Prophets, seers, wizards, divirners; or whatever you may call them.  I have started with Nostradamus, Rasputin; and the "real or mythical"  Merlin.  Edcar Cayce and others will be added as soon as possible.  Let me know if you have any suggestions. for additions;  Or; requests for a particular kind or method of divining, or fortune telling not listed. here. Let me know please  if you think ,I have left something inportant  out of my overviews, or; if  you think  I am  just plain wrong about something.
Things then began to take on a  symbolic nature. You could  see pictures in the clouds, in the Stars,.  faces in the stones,  and designs in the fallen leaves and twigs.  In the pictures,  unfolding events would confirm the visions.

Chance, or prediction?   The Seers  sought answer to the mysteries.

FIRST DIVINATION asked the simple, Yes or No Questions.  Answered by Fate.  through the toss of a stick,  a chip or slice of wood, or a flat stone. with a different color or sign on each side.

These were the First, RUNE Sticks and Yarrow Sticks, that became the I-CHING.  Later the pieces were made of  clay ; then  Coins.

It became common to have One Mark, or Line on one side of the object ; and Two Marks or Lines on the other. 1 is for Yes 2 is for No ect.

This divination progressed  because by adding the results of two, three, or more tosses, and writing down the results,

New Symbols were formed.  This method formed the basis of  the  both the I-Ching Symbols and the early Runic symbols.   I will show you some of these in the EARLY RUNES.  This is also the reason the I-Ching will be included among the list of Runes.

I will also be including other Sets of Symbols, normally not considered to be Runes;

AFRICAN ROOTS: are depected in both the Egyptian and Adrinka Orisa Ashanti Voodoo and other African Divination.
these are to included because these Talisman/Amulet Symbols are used for personal character analysis and for divination in the same way as the  I-Ching. and the Runes.

From the beginning of time, Man has tried to understand the Mysteries of Life, the Future, his own personal Destiny and the meaning of life and  destiny of mankind itself.

He looked with awe at the natural world around him.  He revered the forces of Nature.  From what he saw in nature, he sought the answers to the mysteries of his life.
First; by looking and following the cycles of nature.  Then, by studying the characteristics and qualities that seemed to be inherent in animal life in the nature of each part of his natural enviornment. What he saw:

The SUN: blazing across the sky on long summer days, cooling to the short days of winter, sometimes shrouded by clouds, or lost in a grey chill; blooming again to bring forth the new life of spring.  The mystery of the MOON; the changing cycles of light and dark, drawing the ocean tides, to and fro, and the time and tides of men.

The characteristics of the Earth: stones, rocks and mountains, barren sands, fertile plains. The Waters: manifested as Snow, ice, rain, babbling brook, placid lake,  the Great Oceans.

The diverse nature and character of the Animal life:  with the chain of survival among the natural order of plants and animals.  From understanding these things in the natural world, he grew to better understand of life itself.   The first OMENs were predictions from observing nature. Predicting the Weather , the seasons from the behavior of the animals and Birds.  They looked for the relationships in all things and they found them.

The TAROT,  (Taru, or Tarotti)
Is an intensive study in itself.   It represents an area of Philosophical and Psychological study as well as the famliar characterizations and techniques for "reading Fortunes".

The Tarot is unlike; what I call (passive) divining, or fortune telling, using the things that are  static, & unchangeable, like the bumps in your head, the lines in your hand, your birthdate.  Which are the things you use in the path of your own self discovery,  to know yourself and your  possibilities or the best path to your destined future.

The Tarot, is what I call (active) divination, up to the minute. The  principal of using any of the "active" methods of  "divining"  is the predisposition of an unseen, or divine power or force, the spirit world,  Fate, or the power of your unconscious mind, reaching into that unseen world,  that  calls forth the particular card or symbol,  to show you your destiny, or answer your question.

The cards we use today (Waite, Thoth Decks) are designs created,  based on beliefs, & using the symbols of ancient wisdom to bring forth hidden knowledge.

I am presenting an overview and interpretations using the Rider-Waite Deck;  as a beginning; but I will be continuing to add more about the Mysterious Tarot.
